Are you a professional public speaker living in
Minnesota (or passing through)?
This is who and what we are, and you are
invited!
Our activities will include monthly (educational
but still "informal") meetings with many of what I call:
"Get-to-gather" events which could be going to a movie, taking a hike
somewhere, skiing, etc.; which are opportunities to know each other to form
friendships first and then learn tips, and tricks of the trade from each
other.
The group is meant for (paid) professional
speakers but it is open to those who seek to become professional speakers. Over
time as the group grows there will be different events where members will need
to "qualify" to attend to motivate members to move forward on their
professional goals.
Professional public speakers need a place to
"unwind" and not always be "teachers" and
"speakers" but "normal" people and just talk about everyday
life and socialize and then when things come up they can chat about public
speaking.
Also, our monthly meetings will eventually be at
different locations in Minnesota to accommodate those residing in different
areas of the state. We'll have meetings in Minneapolis area, Forest Lake,
Hinckley, Grand Rapids and Duluth. This way we'll all associate with professionals
from all over the state; plus I will market to professionals who are passing
through who would like to join us.
I'm very excited to get this off the ground.
Don't worry if you can't be here for this first event; we'll have many. We'll
have a regular monthly meeting such as this which will be at 2:30 p.m. on a
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and several group "get-to-gather"
activities during each month (mornings, evenings, week nights, weekends, etc.)
which really is the main focus of this group. This will be a community of
professional speakers (and those with strong desire who are action takers to
become professionals) to congregate and network in non-formal situations and
not to talk shop all the time but casually teach each other through association;
more is "caught than taught".
