As public speakers it is our job to keep our audiences engaged; at least long enough to get our points across. There are certainly many ways to do so, one, of course, is to be interesting in the first place, but beyond that, I really love using props. Props are so easy to use and create a visual to any presentation and most presentations offer so many places where they could be used easily. Props make your points easier to remember and keep the audience's attention.
Magic tricks can be a type of "prop" and work well in most any speech. Plus, when you inform an event planner that you also include "magic" in your presentation, you'll be booked more often, and demand higher fees.
